Thirty-Six-Year-old Leland Allen was a well-known and well-liked husband and father in the small town of Cooper, TX. In February 1980, Leland, a truck driver, was gunned down in a spray of bullets in Dallas, TX, 80 miles from Leland’s hometown.

News of Leland’s violent murder shocked his community, and initially, the crime seemed random and motiveless.
